Katherine Stainton is an English artist, originally from Worcestershire. Born into a family of artists, she spent much of her youth immersed in many creative practices and dedicated to experimenting and developing her abilities and techniques in different areas.
It was during four years living In mainland Spain that she discovered an interest in group wildlife and began a series of artworks in oil. Surrounded by the Med and a vibrant mix of Spanish and international culture her shoal artworks began. Since then, she has sold works across the UK and internationally in the US, Australia and South Africa.
In her work, she dedicates much of her time to the construction of rhythmic colour composition to create balance and a sense of harmony in a bid to reflect the peaceful nature of the shoals ability to survive as one.
